Poptin's Shopify pricing has a gap in it. The listing goes from $29 for 10,000 visitors straight to $119 for 100,000, with nothing in between. So a store with 11,000 visitors pays the same as one with 100,000. If that step, a contact cap or popups that stop at your limit has you looking for a Poptin alternative, this guide compares 11 Shopify popup apps at real traffic levels.
Our verdict up front: for Shopify stores that have outgrown Poptin's $29 plan but sit under 40,000 visitors, Optinify is the best Poptin alternative. You'd pay $49 or $89 instead of $119, with no contact cap and someone to move your campaigns.
Poptin is cheaper than us under 10,000 visitors and between 40,000 and 100,000. It also has 346 Shopify reviews at 4.9, and we have six. If you're happy in one of those ranges, you may not need to move at all.
Every price, limit and rating here comes from each app's Shopify App Store listing, checked on November 1, 2026. Where we use another source, we say so.
Which Poptin Alternative Fits Your Store?
The right tool depends on your traffic, your list size and whether you want email sending in the same app.
Why Do Merchants Look for a Poptin Alternative?
On Shopify, the main reasons are the price jump above 10,000 visitors, caps on active contacts, and popups that switch off at the limit. Its reviews are mostly very good, so this is usually about fit and cost rather than a broken app.
Here's what we could confirm from Poptin's Shopify listing, its reviews and its help center:
- The $29 to $119 jump. Pass 10,000 visitors and your bill roughly quadruples. Nothing on the listing sits between those two plans.
- A second meter. Each paid plan also caps active contacts, at 500, 1,000 and 10,000. A store with a big list and modest traffic could hit that cap first. The listing doesn't say whether contacts you only sync to Klaviyo count, so ask.
- Popups stop at the limit. Poptin's help article says that once you reach your plan's limit, popups stop showing to all visitors, new and returning. A viral week or a big sale could switch off your email capture when you most want it. Admins see a warning on the site, and you can turn that message off.
- The same person can count twice. Website visitors are counted over a rolling 30 days. Someone who switches device or clears cookies counts again.
- A small free plan. Free covers 1,000 visitors and one domain, which is about enough to test the editor.
What Poptin's Shopify Reviews Say
The reviews deserve a fair reading. Only 13 of 346 are three stars or lower, and recent ones praise speed and support. The complaints we read are specific, though: one store reports popups still showing after uninstalling (November 2025), and another says a test install showed an upgrade message to all its visitors (November 2024). A 2025 reviewer blames the app for slow loads and a six-hour outage, and a 2022 reviewer found customization tedious.
Other lists also say Poptin slows your site or has few templates. We couldn't confirm either. Two vendor lists disagree on the size of its template library (12 versus 60+), and the speed claim rests on a handful of reviews. In a 2020 reply, Poptin said its code loads asynchronously from a CDN. A slow popup does hurt user experience, so test it on your own store with PageSpeed Insights.
Poptin Pricing in 2026

On Shopify, Poptin has one free plan and three paid plans, all billed monthly through Shopify. Each paid plan includes unlimited emails, domains and popups, plus premium support. The listing shows no free trial, because the free plan does that job.
How Does Each Poptin Alternative Compare?

Here are the entry plans side by side, with Poptin on top for reference. Watch what each plan counts.
*Klaviyo's rating covers its whole email and SMS app, not just forms. Prices are monthly billing in USD.
What You'd Pay at 20,000 Visitors a Month

We assumed three pageviews per visitor, which is the same ratio Poptin's own listing uses (5,000 visitors, about 15,000 pageviews). Your store's real number is in Shopify analytics.
For 20,000 monthly visitors (about 60,000 pageviews), the cheapest Shopify plan that covers you costs:
Mailmunch and Klaviyo don't fit this table, since they bill on contacts. Getsitecontrol beats us here and we won't hide it, though email sending on Pro adds $1.60 per 1,000 emails.
Poptin vs Optinify at Every Traffic Level
This is the table that matters if you're choosing between the two, and it splits three ways. Monthly billing, Shopify listing prices:
So we win from 10,001 to 40,000 visitors, and we lose on either side of that. At 50,000 visitors, neither of us is the cheapest. Sleeknote charges $83, and Getsitecontrol's unlimited plan is $29 plus email fees.
Poptin's price also assumes your list fits under its contact caps. Optinify doesn't cap contacts, because it passes them to your email tool and doesn't send email itself.
What Happens When You Hit Your Limit?

Ask this before a big sale.
The others don't state it on the pages we read. If you run big sales, we'd pick a tool that keeps showing popups and sends you a bill over one that goes quiet.
Each Poptin Alternative for Shopify, Ranked
1. Optinify: The Best Poptin Alternative Overall

Best for: Shopify brands between 10,000 and 40,000 visitors, or bigger ones that want a published price up to 400,000.
What Optinify Includes
Optinify is a Shopify popup app for lead capture by email and SMS (this is our product). You pay by monthly visitors, so browsing and extra campaigns don't move your bill, and every plan includes every feature:
- Formats and games: lightbox, floating bar, full-page and multi-step popups, announcement, free-shipping and countdown bars, plus spin the wheel, scratch to win, mystery discount, match cards and mini quizzes. See our spin-to-win popup page and our popup templates.
- Triggers and targeting: exit-intent popups, scroll depth, time delay and idle triggers, plus new or returning visitors, device, country and Shopify Markets. Our guide to popup targeting rules shows how to combine them.
- Offers and testing: unique discount codes, frequency capping, and a built-in A/B test campaign on every plan.
- Integrations: popular email marketing services such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, Brevo, GoHighLevel, Drip, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, Moosend, Redo and TargetBay, plus Shopify customers. Here's every tool Optinify connects to.
- Support: live chat and email from real people on every plan, plus concierge onboarding.
Optinify Pricing and Trade-Offs
Pricing: Starter $49/mo (20K visitors), Pro $89 (40K), Elite $199 (100K) and Enterprise $299 (400K), with a 14-day free trial. Annual billing saves 20%. See Optinify pricing.
Compared to Poptin: Less than half the price at 20K visitors. No contact cap, more game types, and a key account manager moves your Poptin campaigns over and publishes them for you.
The catch: There's no free plan, no built-in email marketing and no HubSpot or Zapier on our list, and we only run on Shopify. Poptin has all of those.
2. Getsitecontrol: For Popups and Email at a Low Price

Best for: Small brands that like having popups and email in one app and want to keep it that way.
If Poptin's email side is why you chose it, Getsitecontrol is the closest Poptin alternative. The listing, GSC Email Marketing + Popups, covers newsletters, email automation, segments, exit-intent, discount, countdown and quiz popups, with unlimited contacts even on the free plan.
Pricing: Free for 10K widget views. Pro is $19/mo (100K views) plus $1.60 per 1,000 emails sent. Pro Max is $29 (unlimited views) plus $1.40 per 1,000 emails.
Compared to Poptin: No contact cap, and $29 removes the traffic question altogether. Widget views only count when a widget shows, so quiet pages cost nothing.
The catch: You pay per email, where Poptin includes unlimited emails. The listing doesn't name wheel games, and A/B testing starts at Pro.
3. OptinMonster: For One Flat Price and a Long Trial

Best for: Stores that want a simple $49 bill and a month to test.
OptinMonster lists one Growth plan with unlimited exit and email popups, 400+ templates, A/B testing, all targeting and triggers, and priority support. It works with Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Drip and others.
Pricing: $49/mo with a 30-day free trial. The listing gives no traffic limit. OptinMonster's website puts Growth at 100,000 campaign impressions.
Compared to Poptin: $70 cheaper at 20K visitors, and it only meters popup views. HubSpot users can keep that connection.
The catch: A 2.5 rating from 15 reviews, split between five stars and one star, against Poptin's 4.9 from 346. And there's no clear public price above 100,000 impressions.
4. Claspo: For High Limits and AI Testing

Best for: Stores happy with pageview billing that want room to grow.
Claspo includes unlimited widgets, users and features on each plan, with spin the wheel, memory cards, scratch cards, quizzes and AI-run A/B tests. Its listing offers migration from five popup tools, but Poptin isn't one of them.
Pricing: Free for 3K pageviews with a "Powered by Claspo" badge. Then $39/mo (50K pageviews), $69 (100K) and $249 (1M), with a 14-day trial.
Compared to Poptin: No contact cap, and $50 less at 20K visitors. But $69 runs out at about 33,000 visitors, where the next step is $249.
The catch: One website per plan, against Poptin's unlimited domains. Every pageview counts too, popup or no popup.
5. OptiMonk: For a Bigger Free Plan and an AI Agent

Best for: Stores that want to start free and let AI build their campaigns.
OptiMonk builds popups from a chat with an AI agent, working from your goal and store URL. It connects to Attentive and Postscript, which matters if your SMS runs on either.
Pricing: Free for 10K pageviews with all features. Essential $29/mo (20K), Growth $99 (100K) and Premium $249 (500K).
Compared to Poptin: The free plan is roughly three times bigger once you convert visitors to pageviews. At 20K visitors you'd save $20, and past about 33,000 visitors the math flips.
The catch: Every pageview counts, and campaigns pause at the limit, so you don't escape the problem you may be leaving.
6. Popupsmart: For More Room at $19

Best for: Small teams that want AI-written popups and more headroom than Poptin's entry plan.
Popupsmart has an AI popup builder, spin-to-win and lottery games, exit intent, advanced targeting, multi-step forms and automated emails on a capped allowance.
Pricing: Free for 5K pageviews and one live popup. Starter $19/mo (25K), Basic $39 (50K) and Advanced $69 (100K).
Compared to Poptin: $19 covers about 8,000 visitors here, against 5,000. It also has a $39 middle step that Poptin's listing lacks, good for up to about 16,000 visitors.
The catch: A/B testing starts at $69, and the plan tops out at 100K pageviews, or about 33,000 visitors.
7. Sleeknote: For Visitor Billing and Phone Support

Best for: Brands running several domains that want to speak to someone.
Sleeknote is a drag-and-drop builder that works without code, with targeting based on visitor data, exit intent, countdown timers, hello bars and surveys, plus unlimited campaigns and domains. Support runs by phone, chat and email.
Pricing: Core is $69/mo (25K visitors) or $83 (50K). Core+Gamification, which adds wheels, quizzes and scratch cards, is $95 or $115. Each has a 14-day trial.
Compared to Poptin: Same visitor billing and unlimited domains, for $36 to $50 less between 10K and 50K visitors. On price, it's the most direct Poptin alternative for the gap.
The catch: The Shopify app launched in March 2025 and has just four reviews, including a one-star complaint about cancelling. Games cost extra, and the listing stops at 50K visitors.
8. Alia: For AI-Run Testing

Best for: Funded Shopify brands that want AI to decide what to test.
Alia is a Shopify app for email and SMS capture, with real-time personalization, automatic A/B testing and optimization, quizzes and games. It connects to Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Omnisend, Sendlane and Yotpo, with onboarding on every plan.
Pricing: $100/mo (20K visitors), $200 (50K), $300 (100K) and $400 (300K), with a 14-day trial.
Compared to Poptin: Slightly cheaper at 20K visitors, then far more expensive. It's $300 against $119 at 100K.
The catch: No free plan, and no entry plan for a small store.
9. Mailmunch: For a Free Plan With No Visitor Limit

Best for: Small stores building a first list on a tight budget.
Mailmunch offers forms, popups, a landing page builder and an automated welcome email. Its free plan lists unlimited subscribers, forms and popups, with basic analytics.
Pricing: Free. Premium is $24.99/mo or $15 per 5,000 contacts, with a 14-day trial, and adds full analytics, custom domains and premium templates.
Compared to Poptin: The free plan shows no 1,000-visitor ceiling, so it's the easiest free Poptin alternative to stay on.
The catch: A 4.5 rating from 148 reviews is lower than Poptin's, with 14 reviews at one or two stars. The listing doesn't name games or A/B testing, and your bill grows with your list.
10. Klaviyo Forms: Free If You Already Use It

Best for: Stores already running email and SMS on Klaviyo that want simple signup forms without another app.
Klaviyo is an email and SMS marketing platform, and popups and embedded forms come with the Klaviyo app. There's no traffic meter, and forms and flows share one audience.
Pricing: Free up to 250 active profiles. Email starts at $20/mo for 251 to 500 contacts, and SMS at $15/mo.
Compared to Poptin: One less app and one less bill, if basic forms are enough. Its marketing automation also goes far deeper than Poptin's.
The catch: Your bill follows your list, and a recent one-star reviewer complains about unexpected charges from active-profile billing.
11. Wisepops: For Extra Channels on a Big Budget

Best for: Big stores that want popups, web push and a notification feed in one place.
Wisepops includes 140+ templates, AI product recommendations, web push and A/B testing with control groups, plus personalized onboarding and live chat.
Pricing: The Shopify listing shows one plan: $299/mo or $2,990/yr, up to 500K pageviews, with a 14-day trial.
Compared to Poptin: You'd pick this Poptin alternative for the extra channels and because the plan covers traffic Poptin's listing doesn't.
The catch: $299 is the floor. It only makes sense past about 100,000 visitors.
Poptin Alternative Options We Left Out
Other lists often recommend these four. We only compare popup tools we can price from a Shopify listing, and these didn't qualify on November 1, 2026.
Is There a Free Poptin Alternative?
Yes, and several alternatives offer more than Poptin's free plan, which covers 1,000 visitors (about 3,000 pageviews). Mailmunch shows no visitor limit, OptiMonk covers 10,000 pageviews and Getsitecontrol 10,000 widget views.
Popupsmart gives you 5,000 pageviews with one live popup. Claspo offers 3,000 with a badge, and Klaviyo includes forms up to 250 active profiles.
What About a Poptin Alternative for WordPress?
Optinify only runs on Shopify, so we're not the answer here, or for WooCommerce stores. Poptin works on other platforms, so if you run a WordPress site alongside your store, one app may be worth more than a lower price. For WordPress alone, other lists keep naming Popup Maker, though we haven't compared it.
Poptin vs OptinMonster: Which One Should You Pick?
If OptinMonster is the Poptin alternative you're weighing, pick Poptin when reviews and email sending matter most, and OptinMonster if price at 11K to 33K visitors decides it. Above that, confirm OptinMonster's limit in writing first, because Poptin's $119 is published and its isn't.
Poptin Pros and Cons
Before you settle on a Poptin alternative, weigh what Poptin does well.
Pros:
- 4.9 from 346 Shopify reviews, with reviewers praising its user-friendly setup, support and targeting options
- Cheap under 10,000 visitors, at $19 or $29
- Unlimited emails and email sequences included
- $119 covers up to 100,000 visitors, which is hard to beat near the top of that range
- Unlimited domains on paid plans
- A free plan you can stay on, with no trial clock
Cons:
- No plan on the listing between 10,000 and 100,000 visitors
- Paid plans also cap active contacts
- Popups stop showing at your limit
- Some reviewers report popups that kept showing after uninstalling
When Does It Make Sense to Stay With Poptin?
Stay if you've got fewer than 10,000 visitors and a small list. Nothing here beats $29 with email included by enough to justify rebuilding your campaigns, except perhaps Getsitecontrol.
Also stay if you're between 40,000 and 100,000 visitors and your list fits under 10,000 contacts. At 50K, only Sleeknote and Getsitecontrol come in under $119, and at 100K only Getsitecontrol does, before email fees.

What to Check Before You Choose a Poptin Alternative
If you're the marketer who'll own this tool, a few questions will save you a bad surprise in month two:
- How many meters does it have? Pageviews, visitors, impressions and contacts all behave differently, and some apps use two at once. Convert each to your own numbers.
- What happens at the limit? Ask whether popups stop, or whether you get upgraded or billed extra.
- Who sends your email? If Poptin sends yours today, a popup-only app means moving your sequences to one of your email marketing tools as well.
- Is the integration native? Check for your email and SMS tools by name, because a native connection passes tags and consent without a middleman.
- Who moves your campaigns? Rebuilding every popup takes time, so ask whether the new app will do it for you.
How to Move Your Poptin Campaigns Without Losing Conversions
Nobody can honestly promise that switching lifts your conversion rate. Whichever Poptin alternative you choose, protect what's working.
- Record your baseline. Write down signup rate, revenue per campaign and new subscribers per week. Analytics history is unlikely to follow you.
- Export your contacts. Do this first if Poptin holds your list or sends your emails, and rebuild any sequences in your new email tool before you turn anything off.
- Move your best campaign first. Copy the offer, trigger and audience exactly. Change one thing and you won't know what made the difference.
- Check the handoff. Submit your own email, then confirm the contact reaches your email tool with the right tags, the discount code works and your welcome flow fires.
- Compare fairly. Run the new popup on part of your traffic or on alternate weeks, and never show two tools to the same visitor. Wait for a few hundred signups before you decide.
- Move the rest, then remove Poptin. Uninstall it, then open your store in a private window on a real phone. Given the reviews about popups lingering, check that none still appear, and look in your theme for leftover snippet code.
If you're moving to Optinify, your key account manager recreates your popup campaigns, matches the targeting, connects your email tool and publishes everything. Prefer to do it yourself? Check our guide to adding a popup.
How We Picked Each Poptin Alternative
We started from the top Poptin alternatives other lists keep naming, then kept those with a live Shopify App Store listing and a published price. We added Getsitecontrol, Alia and Klaviyo, because they do the same job on Shopify. Our roundup of the best Shopify popup apps covers more.
We read each listing on November 1, 2026. We didn't install every app or use any vendor's conversion claims, ours included. Ranking Optinify first is our call, not a neutral one.
