Wisepops Alternatives title beside real Optinify spin-the-wheel, mini quiz, pick-a-gift and scratch card popups, with a $49 a month price card for 20K visitors

Wisepops lists one plan on Shopify: $299 a month for up to 500,000 pageviews. It's a strong tool at a fair price for a big store, but it's a lot for a small one. If that's why you're looking at Wisepops alternatives, this guide shows what nine Shopify popup apps cost at your traffic.

Our verdict up front: for most Shopify stores under 100,000 monthly visitors, Optinify is the best Wisepops alternative. At 20,000 visitors you'd pay $49 a month instead of $299.

One warning. Wisepops does things we don't, including web push and an onsite notification feed. If you use those, you may be better off staying.

Every price, limit and rating here comes from each app's Shopify App Store listing or pricing page, checked on November 1, 2026.

Which of These Wisepops Alternatives Fits Your Store?

Shopify merchants usually start with price, but the right choice among Wisepops alternatives depends on your traffic, your email platform and what's bothering you about Wisepops. Stores under 100K visitors should start with Optinify. Everyone else can use this table to get down to a shortlist of one or two.

Why Do Merchants Look for Wisepops Alternatives?

Mostly because of fit, not quality. Wisepops is a strong product, with 4.9 from 71 Shopify reviews and only two below four stars. It's built for larger brands using several onsite channels, so stores with less traffic or simpler needs often want something smaller.

Here's what we saw on the Wisepops listing, its reviews and its website:

  • The Shopify plan is sized for bigger stores. $299 covers 500,000 pageviews. A store with 20,000 visitors, at three pageviews each, uses about 60,000 pageviews, or 12% of that.
  • It bills on pageviews. Every page counts, whether a popup shows or not. That works well if you run popups across the whole site. A couple of reviewers who show only a few popups said they'd prefer another model, and Wisepops replied in April 2024 that it was building a way to add pageviews without upgrading.
  • Larger plans go through a demo. The website's pricing link leads to a demo booking, and the home page lists a high-touch plan from $499 a month. If you'd rather compare prices without a sales call, that's a reason to look elsewhere.
  • It leans toward a managed service. The home page says "You bring the traffic. We make it convert," and the top plan pairs the software with a dedicated strategist. That's a real plus if you want the help. If you only need an email popup, a simpler tool may suit you better.

One budgeting note: some software directories still list Wisepops at $49, $199 or $249 a month. None of those plans appear on the Shopify listing today, so don't plan around them.

What You'd Pay at 20,000 Visitors a Month

Bar chart of monthly prices at 20,000 visitors for Wisepops alternatives, from $49 for Optinify and OptinMonster to $299 for Wisepops

Entry prices hide the real cost of Wisepops alternatives. "50K pageviews" sounds bigger than "20K visitors", but it's smaller, because one visitor usually opens several pages. We assumed three pageviews per visitor, the ratio Poptin and Sleeknote both print on their own pricing. Your store's real number is in Shopify analytics.

For 20,000 monthly visitors (about 60,000 pageviews), the cheapest plan that covers you costs:

A few of those need a footnote. OptinMonster counts impressions. Its listing shows no limit, and its website shows Growth at 100K impressions for $67 a month billed yearly, renewing at $1,470 a year, so confirm which price you'd get. Poptin's Shopify listing jumps from $29 (10K visitors) to $119 (100K), though its website showed a $59 plan for 50K visitors. Sleeknote's games cost extra, which makes it $95. And Popupsmart's $39 plan plus one $10 overage block would match our $49, without A/B testing. Klaviyo bills on contacts, so it isn't in the table.

Wisepops vs Optinify at Every Traffic Level

Wisepops and Optinify monthly prices at 10K, 20K, 40K, 100K, 167K and 400K visitors, with the same price at 167K

The gap closes as you grow. From just over 100K visitors to about 167K, the two cost the same on monthly billing, so price stops being a reason to move and features decide it. On yearly billing, a 20K store pays $470.40 against $2,990.

The ratio matters as well. If shoppers open five pages instead of three, Wisepops' 500K limit runs out at 100,000 visitors, while our Enterprise plan still covers 400,000.

The 9 Best Wisepops Alternatives for Shopify

Here are the nine in detail, starting with our top pick. We've said plainly what each one is missing, because nearly all of them give up something Wisepops has.

1. Optinify: The Best Wisepops Alternative Overall

Optinify card: 5.0 rating, from $49 a month for 20K visitors, 14-day trial, next to real spin-the-wheel, quiz, scratch card, pick-a-gift and match-card popups

Best for: Shopify stores under 100,000 visitors that want testing, games and hands-on help for much less than $299.

Optinify is a Shopify popup app for email and SMS capture. It's priced by monthly visitors, so browsing doesn't move your bill, and every plan includes every feature:

  • Formats and games: lightbox, floating bar, full-page and multi-step popups, announcement, free-shipping and countdown bars, plus spin the wheel, scratch to win, mystery discount, match cards and mini quizzes. Our spin-to-win popup page shows how the wheel works.
  • Triggers and targeting: exit-intent popups, scroll depth, time delay and idle triggers, plus new or returning visitors, device, country and Shopify Markets. Our guide to popup targeting rules shows how to combine them.
  • Offers and testing: unique discount codes, frequency capping, and a built-in A/B test campaign on every plan.
  • Integrations: Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, Brevo, GoHighLevel, Drip, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, Moosend, Redo and TargetBay, plus Shopify customers. Here's every tool Optinify connects to.
  • Support: live chat and email from real people on every plan, plus concierge onboarding.

Pricing: Starter $49/mo (20K visitors), Pro $89 (40K), Elite $199 (100K) and Enterprise $299 (400K). Annual billing saves 20%. See Optinify pricing.

Compared to Wisepops: $250 less a month at 20K visitors. A key account manager moves your Wisepops campaigns over and publishes them for you.

The catch: No web push, notification feed or free plan, and it won't run outside Shopify. Zapier isn't on our integrations list. We've also got six Shopify reviews, all five stars. That's a small sample, so use the trial to judge it yourself.

2. OptiMonk: For a Free Start and an AI Agent

OptiMonk card: 4.8 rating, from $29 a month for 20K pageviews, with an AI agent building a welcome popup

Best for: Stores that want to start free and let AI build their campaigns.

OptiMonk lets you build popups by chatting with an AI agent, which works from your goal and store URL, and you can connect it to an AI chat tool over MCP. Formats include email, SMS, cart, exit-intent and survey popups. It integrates with Attentive and Postscript, which matters if your SMS runs on either.

Pricing: Free for 10K pageviews with all features. Essential $29/mo (20K), Growth $99 (100K) and Premium $249 (500K). Its website adds steps in between.

Compared to Wisepops: The same 500K pageviews cost $249 instead of $299, and small stores pay far less.

The catch: Still metered on every pageview, and campaigns pause at the limit.

3. Claspo: For High Limits and No Feature Gates

Claspo card: 5.0 rating, from $39 a month for 50K pageviews, with a memory card game popup

Best for: Stores happy with pageview billing that want a lot of room for the money.

Claspo includes every feature on every plan, with unlimited widgets and users on paid plans, gamified popups with 6+ games, product quizzes, cart abandonment popups and AI-run A/B tests. Its listing also names Wisepops among the tools it migrates from, though it doesn't say how.

Pricing: Free for 3K pageviews with a "Powered by Claspo" badge. Then $39/mo (50K pageviews), $69 (100K) and $249 (1M), with a 14-day trial.

Compared to Wisepops: Twice the pageviews for $50 less. At very high traffic, this is the first of the Wisepops alternatives to price.

The catch: One website per plan, and a jump from $69 straight to $249.

4. Alia: For AI-Run Testing

Alia card: 4.6 rating, from $100 a month for 20K visitors, with an A/B test where the winning quiz popup is picked automatically

Best for: Funded Shopify brands that want AI to decide what to test.

Alia is a Shopify app for email and SMS capture, with popups that adapt to each visitor, automatic A/B testing, quizzes and games. Its behavioral targeting also uses traffic source, location and Klaviyo user data. It connects to Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Omnisend, Sendlane and Yotpo, and includes onboarding on every plan.

Pricing: $100/mo (20K visitors), $200 (50K), $300 (100K) and $400 (300K), with a 14-day trial.

Compared to Wisepops: Cheaper up to about 50K visitors. From 100K it costs the same or more, without web push or a feed.

The catch: No free plan, and one of the pricier Wisepops alternatives for small stores.

5. Popupsmart: For AI Drafts on a Small Budget

Popupsmart card: 4.6 rating, from $19 a month for 25K pageviews, with an exit-intent discount popup

Best for: Small teams that want AI-written popups and a low entry price.

Popupsmart has an AI popup builder, spin-to-win and lottery games, exit intent, multi-step forms and built-in automated emails.

Pricing: Free for 5K pageviews and one live popup, with advanced targeting included. On Shopify: Starter $19/mo (25K), Basic $39 (50K) and Advanced $69 (100K). Its website adds Pro $99 (250K) and Expert $159 (500K).

Compared to Wisepops: Its 500K plan is $159 against $299, the lowest published price for that traffic on this list.

The catch: A/B testing starts at $69, and Popupsmart says it has no strategist, web push or onsite feed.

6. Poptin: For Popups and Email in One Place

Poptin card: 4.9 rating, from $19 a month for 5K visitors, with a countdown popup and an email automation

Best for: Small stores that want a popup and email tool in one app.

Poptin covers exit-intent, spin-the-wheel, countdown, survey and banner popups, plus email campaigns, automation, segmentation and A/B testing. At 4.9 from 346 reviews, it has the second most reviews among the popup specialists here.

Pricing: Free for 1K visitors. On Shopify: $19/mo (5K visitors), $29 (10K) and $119 (100K). Its website showed Basic $25 (10K), Pro $59 (50K) and Agency $119 (150K), so check which you'd get.

Compared to Wisepops: Far cheaper, and it adds email sending. You give up web push and the feed.

The catch: Shopify plans also cap active contacts, so a large list can push you up a tier.

7. Klaviyo Forms: Free If You Already Use It

Klaviyo forms card: 4.7 rating, email plans from $20 a month, with a newsletter sign-up form synced to a Klaviyo list

Best for: Stores already running email and SMS marketing on Klaviyo that want simple signup forms without another app.

Forms come with the Klaviyo app. Its forms page lists popups, fly-outs, embedded and full-page forms, banners and teasers, with A/B testing, AI-powered timing and targeting by Klaviyo segments, location, cart value and UTM.

Pricing: Free up to 250 active profiles. Email starts at $20/mo for 251 to 500 contacts, and SMS at $15/mo.

Compared to Wisepops: No traffic meter, and forms and flows share one audience. Your bill follows your list instead.

The catch: You're tied to Klaviyo, spin-to-win is the only game listed, and a recent reviewer says active profiles rose unexpectedly and pushed them onto a higher tier.

8. Sleeknote: For Many Domains and No Shutoff

Sleeknote card: 3.5 rating, from $69 a month for 25K visitors, with a free-shipping progress popup targeted by cart value

Best for: Brands running several domains that want visitor billing.

Sleeknote is a no-code, drag-and-drop popup builder with spin-to-win, quizzes, exit intent and countdown timers, plus unlimited campaigns and domains. It targets visitors with Shopify data such as cart value. On annual plans, your visitor allowance is pooled across the year, which helps seasonal stores.

Pricing: On Shopify, Core is $69/mo (25K visitors) or $83 (50K). Core + Gamification is $95 or $115. Both have a 14-day trial. The website quotes euros, up to 500K visitors.

Compared to Wisepops: Visitor billing, and no shutoff to worry about. It also adds a HubSpot connection.

The catch: The Shopify app launched in March 2025 and has four reviews, one of them a one-star complaint about cancelling. Too few to judge either way.

9. OptinMonster: For Metering on Impressions

OptinMonster card: 2.5 rating, Growth plan at $49 a month, with an exit popup counted as one impression

Best for: Sites that are mostly not Shopify, such as WordPress blogs, or publishers with many pages and few popups.

OptinMonster meters popup impressions, so browsing doesn't count. It has unlimited exit popups, 400+ pre-made templates and A/B testing.

Pricing: The Shopify listing shows Growth at $49/mo with a 30-day trial. The website lists Growth at $67/mo billed yearly for the first year, then $1,470 a year.

Compared to Wisepops: A fairer meter for a low-popup site, and a much lower bill.

The catch: Only its top listed plan ties in Shopify, and its Shopify rating is 2.5 from 15 reviews: nine five-star, six one-star. We'd pick other Wisepops alternatives for a Shopify store.

Are There Free Wisepops Alternatives?

Yes. OptiMonk's free tier is the strongest, with 10,000 pageviews and every feature on one domain. Popupsmart gives you 5,000 pageviews with one live popup, Claspo 3,000 with a badge, Poptin 1,000 visitors, and Klaviyo includes forms up to 250 active profiles.

All of these suit stores with very little traffic. Above that, a trial tells you more: Optinify, Alia, Claspo, Sleeknote and Wisepops itself all offer 14 days.

  • 4.9 from 71 Shopify reviews, and a strategist on the high-touch plan
  • It runs on other platforms too, including any site through a JavaScript tag

Cons:

  • Billing counts every pageview, including those without a popup
  • Larger plans are quoted through a demo

When Does It Make Sense to Stay With Wisepops?

Not every store needs Wisepops alternatives. Stay if you actively use web push or the feed, because most replacements would mean adding a second tool for those. Stay if your store is above about 100K visitors, where the price gap has mostly gone. And stay if you want a strategist running your CRO program and you have the budget for it. Moving to save money and then rebuilding that work yourself is a poor trade.

What to Check Before You Choose Between Wisepops Alternatives

A few questions will save any marketer a bad surprise in month two:

  1. How does it count traffic? Pageviews, visitors, impressions and contacts behave differently. Convert each to your own numbers.
  2. Is it a native integration? Check your email and SMS tools by name, so tags and consent pass without a middleman.
  3. Do you actually use web push? If it's switched off today, don't pay to keep it.
  4. How will you measure it? Ask about revenue attribution. Signup counts alone won't tell you what a popup earned.
  5. Does it handle consent? If you collect emails from EU shoppers, confirm how GDPR consent is recorded.
  6. Who moves your campaigns? Rebuilding every popup takes time, so ask whether the new app does it for you.

How to Switch to Wisepops Alternatives Without Losing Conversions

Five steps to switch from Wisepops to Optinify, with the key account manager rebuilding and publishing the campaigns

Nobody can honestly promise that switching lifts your conversion rate. Your offer matters more than your tool. What you can do is protect what's working.

Your email list stays in your email tool, and Shopify discount codes stay in Shopify. Popups, targeting rules, schedules and frequency caps need rebuilding.

  1. Record your baseline. Write down signup rate, revenue per campaign and new subscribers per week, and export anything you want to keep.
  2. Move your best campaign first. Copy the offer, trigger and audience exactly. Change one thing and you won't know what made the difference.
  3. Check the handoff. Submit your own email, then confirm the contact reaches your email tool with the right tags, the discount code works and your welcome flow fires. Most problems show up here.
  4. Compare conversion rates fairly. Run the new popup on alternate weeks or on part of your traffic, and never show two tools to the same visitor. Wait for a few hundred signups before deciding.
  5. Plan for web push. Don't assume your push subscribers will carry over to a new tool. Ask first, then decide whether to replace that channel or retire it.
  6. Move the rest, then remove Wisepops. Uninstall the app and check your theme, so old script doesn't stay on your store.

If you're moving to Optinify, your key account manager recreates your campaigns, matches the targeting, connects your email tool and publishes everything. Prefer to do it yourself? Check our step-by-step guide to adding a popup.

How We Picked These Wisepops Alternatives

An app made this list if it has a live Shopify App Store listing and published prices, and it can replace Wisepops' core job of lead capture with onsite popups. We read each listing and vendor pricing page on November 1, 2026, and we say so where they disagree. The one exception is Poptin's website, which wouldn't load that day, so its website prices are from October 30.

We didn't use conversion claims from any vendor, ours included. We ranked Optinify first, and we'd rather you know that's our call than pretend it's neutral.
